About / Mechanical engineer in progress

Curious enough
to build it.

I’m a mechanical engineering student at South Dakota Mines. My work starts with real constraints and usually ends with a part, a test, or a better question.

Background

Engineering shaped by field work.

I grew up working on a South Dakota ranch, where equipment problems rarely arrive with a clean specification. That environment taught me to diagnose carefully, prototype quickly, and judge a design by whether it keeps working.

Today I apply that mindset to Formula SAE structures, composite-joint testing, medical-device CAD automation, machine design, and aerospace prototypes. I enjoy the full path from an uncertain problem to a verified solution.

Outside engineering, I’m interested in aerospace and endurance sports. Competing as a state medalist in high-school cross country and track reinforced the same habits I value in technical work: consistency, patience, and honest feedback.
